As you know (well, you better know!), this week was Teacher Appreciation Week.  We are so proud to be a part of an industry that supports this valued group of people.  Teachers provide so much inspiration, motivation, and future guidance to their students.  We are all thankful and appreciative of them every day, but this week especially, lets be sure to give them extra thanks.  THANK YOU TEACHERS!

Francisco Partners to Acquire Renaissance

Renaissance will continue to develop leading education technology products under new ownership.

Renaissance®, a leader in pre-K–12 learning analytics, announced that Francisco Partners, a leading technology-focused global private equity firm, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Renaissance from Hellman & Friedman and its other stockholders. In conjunction with the closing, Chris Bauleke, the former CEO of myON, now a part of Renaissance, will succeed Daniel Hamburger as Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance. Boxlight Expands Interactive Touch Options with New MimioFrame Touch Board Kit and ProColor 490 Touch Table

Boxlight Corporation, a leading provider of technology solutions for the global learning market, announced it has two new touch technology products ready to ship to classrooms throughout the United States. One, the MimioFrame touch board kit, is a front-of-classroom interactive solution that turns conventional whiteboards into touch boards in less than 15 minutes. Delaware Leads the Nation in Developing Gene Editing Curriculum for Community College Students

This program advances Delaware as a center for biomedical research, and developing a workforce in biotechnology.

Poway School District Partnership with Peachjar Results in Saving 4.6 Million Pieces of Paper Each Year

For over five years, the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) has utilized Peachjar, the nation’s leading digital flyer system for more than 12,000 K-12 schools in the US, to deliver important communications about school events and enriching after school programs for students directly to parents. Peachjar released data today around cost savings and the overall success since Peachjar’s digital flyer delivery program was implemented. PUSD has saved an average of 4.6MM pieces of paper each year, which totals more than $1.5MM in annualized paper and labor savings.

With 41 schools in the PUSD using Peachjar, this equates to about 23MM pieces of paper and 3100+ trees in that span of time. This announcement is timely and comes on the heels of Earth Day. Peachjar released some data on the total number of paper and trees that company and its school districts have helped to save. Read more>>
